Overview
Complianta is a compliance workflow platform built for small and medium businesses that struggle to stay on top of regulatory requirements without a dedicated compliance team.
The platform allows business owners to onboard their company, select their applicable regulatory frameworks (POPIA, BBBEE, ISO standards), and receive a structured checklist of compliance actions. Tasks are assigned to team members, deadlines are tracked, and automated reminders are sent before due dates.
A full audit trail logs every action taken, providing the documentation needed to demonstrate compliance to auditors or regulators.
The client needed a clean, non-intimidating interface that non-technical business owners could navigate confidently — so UI clarity was a priority throughout the project.
Our process
Product discovery
Worked with the founder to map out the compliance pain points of their target customer and define the MVP feature set.
UX design
Designed the full user experience — onboarding, dashboard, task management, and reporting — with a focus on simplicity for non-technical users.
Framework library
Built a structured database of compliance requirements for POPIA, BBBEE, and other SA-specific frameworks, each with sub-tasks and deadlines.
Platform development
Developed the full SaaS platform including multi-tenancy, role-based access control, and automated reminder emails.
Beta & launch
Supported a beta launch with 15 pilot customers, gathered feedback, and shipped improvements before public launch.
